10 Amazing Venues in Hotel Fort Canning to Get Married At

From lovely tropical gardens, to tranquil poolsides, Hotel Fort Canning has a plethora of venues where you can organise lavish banquets, Pinterest-worthy solemnisations and intimate soirees for your nearest and dearest, and to suit all types of couples, no matter what your aesthetic is.

For the Bohemian Couple

If you love all things floral, and the outdoors, and the idea of getting married in a wide open space greatly appeals to you, try the two garden wedding venues in the hotel. One of the most scenic venues in the hotel is out on the Garden Terrace, with a canopy of fairy lights overhead, and a backdrop of lush greens against the colonial structure of the hotel. This terrace is a three-time winner of the best solemnisation and outdoor wedding venue, and it's definitely not hard to see why!

For couples wishing to look out over Fort Canning Park, and for smaller groups of around 20 people, choose the Tisettanta Terrace. As an added bonus, if you're looking to include your canine best friend in your wedding, the Tisettanta Terrace is an excellent option as it's pet-friendly, and they provide a special entrance for your pooch to enter from.

For the Princess Bride

If you've dreamed of getting married in a ballgown and your dream day includes being surrounded by all your friends, loved ones and all your relatives, choose from the two gorgeous ballrooms at Hotel Fort Canning, from the Lavender Ballroom to the Legends Ballroom that can seat up to 230 and 460 persons respectively.

We're loving the deep red of this setup at the Lavender Ballroom, as well as the super grand chandeliers. This is one cocktail reception guests will love hanging around in and probably taking countless selfies. The ballroom, unlike others, has large windows that showcase the nature thriving in the park outside, giving guests a feeling of spaciousness and calm. Choose from four themes to bring your dream wedding to life.

For even grander weddings for a larger group of people, the Legend Ballroom can seat up to 430 guests, and we love the white and gold theme with plum accents on the flowers on the cake, but you can certainly choose the colour scheme the resonates most with your ideal wedding.

For the Couple Who Loves Their Bling

If you go gaga over the sight of anything shiny, and would love to have an awesome walk-in wardrobe to showcase all your treasures, you're going to love this venue, the HFC Grand Marquee. The largest in the hotel, and Singapore's largest air-conditioned hotel marquee, has phenomenal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, and if you go for the red theme below, ornate candlesticks on every table, like something out of Beauty and the Beast. We love the plush velvet seats--that honestly resemble thrones--with dark red florals to set off the pristine white chairs and gold tables. With the multi-coloured, computerised, state-of-the-art lighting, you could also choose the violet lighting which bathes the venue in glorious purple hues, complemented by the cream floral arrangements at every table.

For the Introverted Bride

If you're naturally shy and the idea of being surrounded by hundreds of people you're unfamiliar with makes you want to break out in hives, we suggest having a much smaller wedding. The great thing about Hotel Fort Canning is that they have a wonderful array of amazing venues to suit any size wedding.

One of the smaller spaces is The Glass House, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a great view of the lush surrounds. It can seat up to 180 people; and is a great place for both intimate solemnisations and wedding receptions. The bronze reflective surfaces and marble floors give the venue a regal and elegant touch.

We're all in favour of smaller weddings, where you can really bond with your nearest and dearest and won't feel that awkward or uncomfortable making a speech. For really small and intimate wedding receptions, we recommend the Jasmine Room, which can seat up to 80 persons, offering more opportunities for the bridal couple to mingle with their guests and spend some quality time with them. Two large screens with projectors can easily broadcast your journey as a couple or your wedding day highlights.

Like the other venues in Hotel Fort Canning--and a rarity in most other hotel venues--the Living Room, adjacent to the Jasmine Room, has floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the greenery around the hotel. It's suitable for solemnisations or rehearsal dinners and is the smallest function room in Hotel Fort Canning, accommodating just 40 persons. If the proceedings are getting a bit too much for you, take a breather out on the balcony, overlooking the treetops.

For the Beach-Loving Couple

If your weekends generally consist of water-sporting activities, or soaking up copious amounts of Vitamin D on the beach, you're definitely a beach couple, and we've got the perfect locations for you. While they aren't beach locations per se, there are two mineral pools that can also be great wedding venues. The hotel's two pools are mineral pools, so named for the mineral water treated by a system from NASA and European Aerospace, to ensure that swimmers are not affected by any chlorine-related health problems. They also create a very scenic and laidback resort-type feel to the wedding, great for couples who really want to take their time and enjoy their wedding.

Enjoy a memorable solemnisation around the Mineral Poolside, with palm trees providing some shade and the colonial facade of the hotel in the background. There's a raised platform where the solemnisation will take place, and it can accommodate up to 50 people. We suggest a blue floral theme, like this one, to complement the azure blue of the swimming pool.

Get married on the Sun Deck, facing the second landscape mineral pool--so named for the mineral water treated by a system from NASA and European Aerospace, which eliminates the smell and any chlorine-associated health problems. The solemnisation here can seat up to 40 people, facing the main table. An aisle decorated with vases of daisies and blue ribbons instantly beautifies the space.
