So, you're getting married and it's time to tell the world. Pre-wedding photography isn't just a fun idea to capture memories but also a great opportunity to build rapport with your photographer. Whether you choose to go casual or don your wedding gear the key to a stand out shoot is location, location, location. You may have a passion for film, love being active, or have an affinity with nature; whatever makes your heart sing, channel that in your concept and stick with it. Choosing a location that reflects what means most to you will bring an authenticity to your shoot, make you feel comfortable and guarantee you'll have fun doing it. Anyway, I digress, here are ten pre-wedding shoot locations featured on Hitcheed.com that we think stand out from the crowd and are in Singapore.
1) The Cinephile
Kam Leng Hotel
Wong Kar Wai's In A Mood For Love was a strong influence for Jeremiah & Wendy's pre- wedding shoot and there's no denying that their concept was a huge success. Located at the Kam Leng Hotel, Kallang and shot by 50nFifty Productions, emphasis was on lighting. With the help of an experienced gaffer they successfully replicated the cinematic style of Wong Kar Wai and delivered beautiful, moody images worthy of Hollywood.

2) Culture Club
Katong Antique House
Kenneth and Lilynne went back to their roots with this eclectic shoot. Seeped in history, there is no shortage of inspiration at Katong Antique House, filled with nostalgic photographs of promiment Peranakans, as well as colourful pottery pieces. Shot by aMusephotographer, their play on framing and scale really make the most of the surroundings, making the couple look at home amongst the heritage pieces and foliage. A must location for any couple seeking imagery with an emphasis on heritage.

3) Keeping it Local
Jalan Besar
Why not? After all, what is more 'you' than your own community? Our couple Han Yang & Hui Xin along with their photographer Andri Tei upped the charm factor with these candid shots around Jalan Besar, juxtaposed against a vintage background. There's no denying the loveliness of this shoot, Andri really knows how to make the most out of each location, which only goes to show that you can still get beautiful shots no matter where you go--even in Singapore.

4) Flying High
Tuas
If your fiancé is a pilot why not make the most of it? Taking inspiration from your passions is a great way to add a personal element to your images, if you're a pilot and have access to a Boeing 767 you can take that opportunity and throw in a bucket load of romance. Androidsinboots didn't shy from this challenge and utilised a variety of locations and outfit changes, juxtaposing industrial with glamour to create a 'wow' worthy album.

5) Book Smart
National University of Singapore
Brian & Evon took it back to their hay day with Knottin' Visuals, choosing the National University of Singapore for their location, a nod to the place they first met, creating a shoot brimming with love and nostalgia. A perfect example that you don't have to choose an elaborate location as even the most ordinary of spaces can be transformed with the right photographer. Picking a space that represents your love story will not only result in a successful shoot but fresh memories in a treasured location that will last a lifetime.

6) Love Punch
Muay Thai Gym
Those that sweat together stay together. Chuen & Kat took their mutual love for Muay Thai and immortalised it into these kick-ass images. Some photographers may have been intimidated by getting in the ring with these two but Love Crafted Co jumped at the chance, effortlessly capturing Chuen & Kat in their element. Another great example of how familiarity of an environment brings out the best candid performances, I think we can all agree that these photos are a knock out (pun intended).

7) Pass the Wine
Angra Wine Importers, Keppel Road
Another stand out shoot from Androids In Boots and another epic industrial location. Pia and Nathan are an inimitable couple with avant-garde style and a personality to match; finding a location to live up to these two was going to be no easy feat. Androids In Boots joined the couple in a shipping yard before heading to Angra Wine Importers on Keppel Road. Choosing a raw location allowed the couple to shine on their wedding day, creating the reddest, raddest photos around.

8) Neighbourhood Watch
People's Park Complex, Outram and Dakota Crescent Playground
Another great example of utilising your natural surroundings, Melvyn & Valerie took to the People's Park Complex in Outram with Senica Photos to bring you this local pre-wedding shoot with a twist. The choice to hero the abundant colour of Singaporean buildings, urban playgrounds and the addition of balloons brings a sense of whimsy, elevating this otherwise ordinary location into something special. We love the mirrored effect of the puddles.

9) Back to Nature
Coney Island
Forests, grasslands and mangroves, oh my! There is an abundance of nature parks in Singapore but our favourite has to be Coney Island, with its selection of fauna and beaches you're spoiled for choice. Our couple Yock Siong & Christina, along with WithMinn Photography, embraced overgrown sculptures and wild coastlines to create stunning imagery in the area that could fool you into thinking they were somewhere abroad.

10) Home Sweet Home
Bishan
When it rains in Singapore it pours, so when monsoon season put a stop to Ambrose & Fransisca's original location idea it didn't dampen their spirits. 50nFifty Productions suggested taking the shoot to the couple's apartment, after all, what represents you more than where you will be starting your married life together? In their signature cinematic style 50nFifty manipulated light to elevate the couple's space, creating intimate imagery and I'm sure some great first memories in the couple's new home.
