High above the Indian Ocean on Bali's Bukit Peninsula, lies the Pandawa Cliff Estate, where this couple got married. In Ungasan, the south coast of Bali, lies Melasti Beach, with great views and a relaxed atmosphere, away from the main party areas of Kuta and Seminyak and right next to the Bali Beach Cliff, giving you gorgeous views of the entire island from its vantage point. The rocks and low tide juxtaposed against the steep cliffs creates a romantic ambience to create your perfect shot for your pre wedding photos. The photographers from Padi Photography love producing photos with natural light, film-look or monochrome, according to your fancy, and even night shots can be a thing of beauty.

At dusk, the glorious hues of the setting sun may be gorgeous to the eye, but sometimes can't quite be captured perfectly on the camera--without leaving your subjects as a silhouette. The team at Padi Photography have found a genius workaround by draping fairy lights around the couple so their facial expressions, outfits and poses can actually be clearly seen. JImbaran Bay is one of the best places to have your pre wedding photos taken, as well as for you to enjoy seafood dinners on the white sand beach.

One of the caldera lakes in Buleleng, Bali is Tamblingan Lake, the smallest of all the lakes in the area. Even if the skies are not cooperating, you can still get gorgeous photos by wading out into the water in a canoe, and posing right in the middle of the lake, so you get the amazing reflection of the lake and the surrounding mountains.

Kintamani in East Bali sits 1,500m above sea level, and is home to the glorious Mount Batur, its lake, and one of Bali's key directional temples Pura Ulun Danu Batur. But you don't need to be a climber to get to the top for great photos; any spot around the area could work if you have a creative photographer, such as the team behind Terralogical, who photographed the couple in front of a forest of trees.

One of the countries we would love to visit over and over is Japan and it's also a great place to head to for unforgettable overseas pre wedding photos. The best time of the year to take these photos is probably in the spring, with an abundance of cherry blossoms bloom all around the country. This photo shoot, organised together with the photographers from Kaiyuu Co., run by Frank and Makiko O'Connor, took this couple around the popular spots in Tokyo, namely Shinjuku, Harajuku, Asakusa, and as far as Kamakura. You can also rent a kimono and get your hair done for an additional US$45.

With Lykke Photo Style, a photography studio based in Hokkaido, dress up in a gorgeous kimono, get your hair and makeup done and enjoy a fuss-free day posing around Japan. One of the best backdrops is the bright vermillion torii gates at Shinto shrines or the brightly coloured foliage in autumn.
