About Merry Bees

Merry Bees Live Music was sparked by the sheer serendipity of three unique individuals on one coincidental evening in August 2012. Inspired by one of Singapore's most popular pop/jazz duo, ShiLi & Adi, Merry Bees was officially launched with the addition of John Lye, a multi-genre singer-guitarist to the working team, and adding a long list of professional musicians and singers who perform regularly in the Singapore live music scene.Our strength of diverse experiences has set us apart from any other group. We deliver music ideas with a personalized service for every event. Our groups have serenaded dignitaries at the Istana, guests in small intimate settings to international stages of more than 15,000 people, and have also performed on TV programmes around the region! The bees are easily bribed with good food, and often found buzzing around town and the region bringing fun, laughter, and romance through the magic of live music!

Engaged Jocelyn and John and added on turbochicken as a percussionist for my ad banquet. A designated coordinator was assigned to us to help coordinate and answer our enquiries and also liaise with the musicians. They will send over a list of songs that they usually sing for us to compile what songs we would like them to sing on the actual day. As we were too busy with our planning, we did not come up with our songlist and trusted them to gauge from our audience and choose the songs. Many of my guests enjoyed the songs sang and our friends even said they were unknowingly singing along which was enjoyable. They also did our first and second march in songs, so it was very memorable as it is not like the exact version. As our chosen march in songs were not in their repertoire, they went an extra mile to learn and practice the songs, which I found was very nice of them to do so. The songs were executed very well, and I was really pleased with it. They were also flexible with arranging the 90mins we engaged them for, depending on our schedule. All in all, Merry Bees exceeded our expectations in service provided and John, jocelyn and turbochicken did exceptionally well and I would highly recommend them.
